George Hytiroglou Sextet
George Hytiroglou is a Rotterdam based jazz guitarist and Codarts graduate. For the past two years he has been leading his own project for which he has composed and arranged all original material.
His music fits in the post-bop idiom and draws a lot of inspiration from his favorite artists such as Wayne Shorter, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, John Coltrane etc. In his compositions George pays extra attention to detail when it comes to writing counter melodies for the horns whilst also allowing room for spontaneity.
The band
With his band he has competed in the finals of the Erasmus Jazz Prize 2025 and the Laren Jazz Festival 2024. They have also performed in different venues in Rotterdam such as Maaspodium and Lantaren Venster. The current line-up consists of:
